At 2600 mt. above sea level, rests the capital city of Colombia with an estimated population of 7.000.000- making it the largest city of the country. Also, with over 450 years of history, it´s one of the most interesting and complete cities of South America with an array of traditions, cultures, parties, museums, and all sorts of kind people. The average temperature ranges between 10 and 18 degrees Celsius, although it can get cooler at night and before sunrise.

When visiting Bogotá make sure to visit the Historic center, the Botanical Garden, the Museo del Oro, and the Plaza Santa María (plaza used for bullfighting) which holds place for cultural events. The G zone is just a couple of blocks away from the hostel and it´s a great place for eating out in fancy restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Dont forget to visit Monserrate or ask at pur front desk about our beautiful nature walk in the mountains.
Bogotá has a massive public bus system that covers the city North to South, complemented with buses and busetas with specific routes around the different neighbourhoods. The taxi service counts with a “taxímetro” (measures the cab fare price) which guarantees you get charged with the right amount. However, La Pinta Bogotá offers it very own transportation service for trips to the airportm the bus terminal, or any specific point in town you want to get to. Ask at the front desk for this service any time!
